Hamilton thought it would be a good idea to go bigger for the summer of '21. Three millimeters bigger can make a world of difference. And it does, both in appearancethe 43mm version is a lot chunkier than the 40mm variantand in weight.The versions on a steel bracelet weigh 212 grams. The version with a rubber strap is quite a bit leaner with a weight of 124 grams. But still, words like hefty and stout come to mind when trying on and wearing all three of these large-size diver's watches. You feel its there even when youre not looking at your wrist. The 43mm steel case that's water-resistant to 300 meters has a height of 12.58mm and a lug width of 22mm; impressive numbers, right?Time for details now. The Khaki Navy Scuba is a sporty timepiece inspired by the style and function of classic dive watches. That explains the unidirectional rotating bezel and easy legibility. This utilitarian characteristics come in a contemporary package that includes a scratch-proof bezel in ceramic with a Super-LumiNova dot at 12 o clock, and the choice of a thick and sturdy yet soft rubber strap. This is a strap with large writing on it too. It reminds you of the name of the watch, but its probably there for more decorative than informative reasons.The caliber H-10 shows staminaYou want more details? What about the brushed crown guards that protect the screw-down crown? When we dive deeper into the watch we come across the caliber H-10. The up-to-date automatic 3Hz movement is a derivative of the ETA 2824-2 and shows stamina by delivering 80 hours of power reserve. The Nivachron balance spring is resistant both to magnetic fields and temperature changes, ensuring stability and accuracy. And although not officially listed you can expect an accuracy of +/-15 seconds per day.Don't look for a date on the dial because there isnt one. Strangely enough, the 40mm does have a date. Somehow upscaling the size led to downsizing the functions. But I'm not complaining because during the summerand especially during a summer holidaya? I can't be bothered about the date at all.
